History - Science
Michael Jackson, also known as the “King of Pop,” died at the age of 50 on June 25, 2009. As one of the biggest entertainers of the 20th century, he had dominated the music industry for close to four decades in his solo career, earning himself 13 No. 1 hits between 1972 and 1995.
To say Jackson has been successful is an understatement — as one of the best-selling male artists of all time, his classic album “Thriller” continues to hit milestones every couple of years. On top of what he has already earned, his works have kept on generating funds — but who is receiving them?
In his will, Jackson nominated his mother, Katherine, as the trustee of his estate and legal guardian of his then three underaged children: Prince Michael, Paris, and Prince. He designated 40 percent of his estate (valued at $111 million as of 2021) to be equally divided between them, another 40 percent for his mother, and the remainder to charities and organizations.
