JOHN WAYNE GACY'S KIDS: WHAT HAPPENED TO MICHAEL AND CHRISTINE GACY?
By NICOLE ROSENTHAL AND MATT REIGLE
History - Science
Michael and Christine Gacy were confronted with a terrifying reality when their father, serial killer John Wayne Gacy, was convicted of murdering 33 boys and men between 1972 and 1978, dressed in a clown suit and makeup. His children — and society at large — were unaware that Gacy had buried his victims' bodies under his house.
Gacy’s first wife, Marlynn Myers, gave birth to Michael in February 1966 and Christine in March 1967. Following Gacy’s November 1968 sex offense charge and a subsequent 18-month stay at Anamosa State Penitentiary, Gacy's wife filed for divorce and was granted sole custody of the children — the last time they would see their father.
Gacy’s children took active steps to hide from the public and maintained a low profile, and no clear information is available about them publicly. It is likely that they changed their identities to sever any connection with him, and rumor has it that both children — now in their 50s — live normal lives with careers and families of their own.
