What Bob Barker Decided To Do With His Fortune After Death

History - Science
"The Price is Right" host Bob Barker ended episodes saying, "Have your pets spayed or neutered." Fittingly, much of his fortune went to animal welfare charities when he died.
The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, and the United Activists for Animal Rights were a few of the animal welfare-based charities where Barker left a large portion of his estate.
Due to his time in the Navy during WWII, Barker also left a chunk of money to military nonprofits. Per his publicist Roger Neal to ET, at least 40 such organizations will benefit.
The New York Times reported that Barker once gave $25 million to the DJ&T Foundation, a spay and neutering support service, and $5 million to Sea Shepherd Conservation Society.
Barker’s support for animal welfare didn’t always take the form of a direct financial contribution. In 2018, he donated 500 acres of land to California’s DonkeyLand Rescue.
Barker also gave to People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). When Barker died, PETA said, "His generous donation allowed PETA to open its West Coast headquarters."
PETA added, "It stands as a testament to his legacy and profound commitment to making the world a kinder place. [...] Bob will always be a national animal rights treasure."
