Dave Grohl Is Worth A Lot More Than You Think

You'd be hard-pressed to find a rock star who has found more success than Dave Grohl, a man who seems to turn everything he touches into pure, distilled rock 'n' roll — a substance which in his case has been at least as valuable as gold. You know all about his first high-profile career as Nirvana's drummer. There's also his second coming with a little group called Foo Fighters, which started out as a fun little solo project until things got a little out of hand and Grohl found himself in one of the biggest bands on earth — again. He was also offered a spot as a Heartbreaker (as in, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers), he's goofed around with the Queens of the Stone Age, and he even played the devil in Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny.

Of course, it hasn't exactly hurt his resume-building that he happens to be one of the best drummers in the world, as well as a great songwriter and a pretty nice dude. He's also a pretty wealthy one, what with being in two world-class bands that have a never-ending cavalcade of hits. In fact, it turns out that Dave Grohl is worth a lot more than you think.

Judging by his bank account, Dave Grohl is no 'Pretender'

Look at the gleeful, no-frills rocker dude that is Dave Grohl. Sure, we technically know that he's an ultra-famous person who has been around for decades, and we technically understand that his career must have made him money by the cartload. Still, his everyman vibe means that at best, he has that air of "probably has a cool house with a home studio"-level wealthiness, which would put his net worth at ... what, a few million dollars? Maybe even ten or twenty? It's easy to think like that, isn't it? It's significantly harder to wrap your head around his actual net worth, which is $320 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. For reference, Kurt Cobain was worth around $50 million when he died

That's a pretty hefty estate for a drummer who started out as a small-time punk musician. But hey, life works in funny ways, and Dave Grohl certainly found the end of the music career rainbow.
