The Stunning Net Worth Of Roman Reigns

Two-time WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns has only recently returned to the ring after a prolonged absence. Twin newborns, the coronavirus, and a leukemia diagnosis (via The Undefeated) have kept the Big Dog out of his proverbial yard for some time now. But, after a triumphant return to the ring in August 2020 (via the Independent) and with his long rumored return to the imminently approaching Wrestlemania 37, after pulling out of Wrestlemania 36, Reign's stock once again appears to be heading for orbit.

Born Leati Joseph Anoa'i in Pensacola, Florida, on May 25, 1985, Roman Reigns hails from the famous Anoa'i wrestling family (via Slam Sports) that includes plenty of superstars from the ranks of the WWE history: Yokozuna, Umaga, Rikishi, and the most famous of them all, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Following in his famous cousin's footsteps, Roman Reigns played college ball for Georgia Tech (via Prowrestling Fandom) before being recruited by the Minnesota Vikings for off-season work. Reigns would pass on the team, instead heading to Canada to play for the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League (CFL). While Reigns would finish the year, the writing was clearly written on the wall for the defensive back. He would be released by the team at the end of the 2008, effectively ending Reigns' football career.

The Big Dog's worth

After a couple of years of soul-searching, Reigns signed with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) in 2010. No one starts out in the majors, though, with WWE CEO Vince McMahon sending Reigns (using the ring name Roman Leakee) to Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW). The kind of "minor league" franchise is owned by the WWE, where talent is developed (via Slam Sports). The Big Dog spent the next two years honing his craft, wrestling all kinds in the region. In 2012, the WWE rebranded FCW to NXT, and Roman Reigns would make his official debut on October 31, 2012 (via PWInsider).

Reigns climbed the ranks of the WWE, winning all sorts of titles along the way. In November 2015, the Big Dog finally captured his first WWE Championship belt. The next three years saw Reigns' stock continue to rise, winning the WWE Championship belt an additional two more times. Life would drastically change for the Big Dog in October 2018, however, when he announced to a packed arena, that he was stepping away from the ring due to leukemia, which was getting the best of him (via The Undefeated).

A champion's triumphant return

The illness wouldn't keep the Big Dog down for long, though. In February 2019, Reigns returned to the ring to announce his cancer was in remission, and that he was returning to wrestling to reclaim the unified championship belt (via Bleacher Report). In August 2020, he defeated Braun Strowman and Bray "The Fiend" Wyatt in a Triple Threat match to regain the Universal Championship (via Bleacher Report), which he successfully defended and retained at Wrestlemania 37, on April 10, 2021.

So, with all that being said, exactly how much is Roman Reigns worth? According to Essentially Sports, Roman Reigns' net worth for 2021 is upward of $15 million! Along with his $5 million per year salary from the WWE, Reigns' endorsements, side businesses, and collection of fancy cars (a Lamborghini Huracán, Toyota Fortuner, Range Rover, and Mercedes-Benz SUV) all combined put him in the high tax bracket. And "they" say wrestling is fake!
