This Is The Most Common Zodiac Sign For US Presidents

When it comes to electing U.S. presidents, the voting public rarely takes a candidate's zodiac sign into account. And, it's unlikely you'll see zodiac signs become part of anyone's political advertising or messaging. But, it's still interesting to see if there are any patterns when it comes to presidents and zodiac signs.

According to the website POTUS, in the early days of the presidency, there seemed to be a lot of Pisces. George Washington, the country's first President, James Madison, the fourth President, and Andrew Jackson, the 7th President were all Pisces. According to MindBodyOnline, individuals who have Pisces as their zodiac sign are "motivated by deep emotional desires, and recharge through emotional experiences." Following those three presidents, only one other president has been a Pisces and that was Grover Cleveland, who was the only president to serve two non-consecutive terms. Cleveland was both the 22nd and 24th president of the U.S. according to the House of Representatives.

What the zodiac signs mean

Though not everyone puts a lot of stake into someone's zodiac sign, each one is believed to have meaning. According to MindBodyOnline, there is some overlap when it comes to what the signs of the zodiac mean.

According to the site, people who are the air signs — Gemini, Libra, or Aquarius — are intellectually expressive and thrive around people or in social settings. If you're a fire sign, such as Aries, Leo, or Sagittarius, you like being inspired by aspirations while recharging via participating in physical activity. Interestingly, President Obama, who was known for playing a lot of basketball during his presidency, is a Leo as the website to POTUS notes. So at least for him, the description of a Leo checks out. MindBodyOnline says those who are an earth sign — Taurus, Virgo, or Capricorn — are "motivated by material needs and practicality and recharge through working with the physical world." And last, but certainly not least, Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces — the water signs — are driven by their emotional desires and not only recharge with emotional experiences, but also with close, intimate relationships.

The zodiac signs of the presidents

So, which zodiac sign has been most frequently represented in the White House? Well, there was a tie, up until Joe Biden was elected as Commander in Chief. According to the New York Post, President Biden's election meant that Scorpios became the most represented star sign among U.S. presidents with Biden becoming the sixth Scorpio to be elected into office.

According to the website POTUS, the previous five presidential Scorpios were John Adams, the second president, James K. Polk, the 11th president, James Garfield, the 20th president, Theodore Roosevelt, the 26th president, and Warren G. Harding the 29th president. Aquarius has been the second most represented zodiac sign with five presidents having that sign. There's a six-way tie for third place. There have been four presidents that have either a Cancer, Capricorn, Leo, Libra, Pisces, or Taurus. Three presidents have been either a Gemini or Sagittarius. And finally, Aries and Virgo are tied at the bottom of the list, having just two presidential representations each.
