Winner of an Academy Award and 18 Grammy Awards, the Beatles legend Paul McCartney is one of the most successful songwriters of all time, per Guinness World Records, and one of the richest musicians in the world, per Celebrity Net Worth.

Despite his popularity and iconic status, his five children have made a name for themselves. Paul's daughters are Mary, who is a photographer, Stella is a fashion designer, Heather is an artist, Beatrice is an aspiring marine biologist, and his son James is a musician. Now that his children are all grown up, Paul loves being a grandfather (via Mirror) to his eight grandchildren.

Though most of his grandchildren live a private life away from the limelight, one McCartney is as dashing and talented as the famous pop star — Arthur Alistair Donald, Mary's first child, and Paul's eldest grandson, per Yahoo. Though he hasn't followed in his granddad's footsteps, Arthur is the spitting image of Paul McCartney's younger version.

Arthur Looks Exactly Like His Young Grandude

Arthur is Paul McCartney's doppelganger, especially during his days with the Beatles. His eyes, lips, and smile closely resemble his grandfather. When the legendary singer strolled through the grounds with his look-alike grandson at Yale University in 2017, some students made a note of it on Twitter. However, Arthur doesn't share Paul's love of music, according to Yahoo. "Following me — for a McCartney kid — it's not that easy," Paul, whose grandchildren call him 'Grandude', told BBC. "So, I don't push them into it or even encourage them to do it for a living."

Though he is often spotted wearing t-shirts and jackets, like his granddad, Arthur has negligible social media presence, unlike Paul McCartney. The versatile singer often shares a glimpse of his life — from losing his brother-in-law to reminiscing old memories — with his nearly 4 million followers on Instagram and over 8 million on Facebook. However, his grandson prefers to be a private person and maintains a safe distance from social media.

On why her children keep a low profile, Mary told Alain Elkann, "I have to be very careful with them about social media because I don't think any kids should Instagram the location they're in or pictures of their school uniform. There should be privacy, and certain people aren't necessarily having as great a time as they're making out."

Inspiration To The World-Famous Rockstar

According to the Daily Express, the world's most successful pop musician helped Arthur with a university project about the Swinging Sixties and disclosed how the British transport and education system helped make The Beatles. "He was doing an essay, his final thesis at university. He wanted to look into the cultural revolution in Britain, so we talked ..." said Paul McCartney, talking about his new book, "The Lyrics: Paul McCartney in Conversation" at London's Royal Festival Hall in November 2021. "... Every story I told him... 'I met George Harrison on the bus and 'I saw John Lennon on the bus' and he very cleverly, I thought, looked at why buses were so good after the Second World War."

At the same time, Paul was inspired by his nickname 'Grandude' to write a children's picture book called "Hey Grandude!" (reminiscent of the Beatles' classic "Hey Jude"), per The Sun. "I wanted to write it for grandparents everywhere — and the kids — so it gives you something to read to the grandkids at bed time," he said.

An Ivy League Graduate And A Finance Professional

According to The Daily Mail, while Paul McCartney's children went to the local school to have a 'normal' upbringing, 18-year-old Arthur left University College School in Hampstead and moved to the United States to pursue his bachelor's degree in history from the prestigious Yale University in Connecticut (via LinkedIn). Interestingly, Yale University had awarded Arthur's legendary songwriter granddad an honorary Doctorate of Music in 2008 (via Hollywood Reporter).

Arthur's mother, Mary, hosts "Mary McCartney Serves It Up" on Hulu and Discovery+, and her ex-husband and Arthur's father, Alistair Donald, is a television director and producer (via IMDb). Since his grandfather is a musician and his parents belong to showbiz, it was probably natural and easier for Arthur to pursue a career in entertainment. The handsome lad even interned for Lucasfilm, a subsidiary of Walt Disney Studios, in the summer of 2018, per LinkedIn.

The same year, he was spotted with Ava Phillippe, Oscar-winner Reese Witherspoon's daughter, per The Daily Mail, strolling the streets of Mayfair and coming out of the celebrity bar Sketch, sparking rumors of an affair between the two 18-year-olds. Later, he attended a London screening of the '60s documentary "My Generation," featuring Paul McCartney, along with his mother and grandfather. While he inherited his grandfather's infectious charm, good looks, cool vibes, and dark hair, he created a different career path. Since June 2020, he has worked as an investment banking analyst at Goldman Sachs, per LinkedIn.
