A new study now suggests that some of the most heinous behavior human beings are capable of can be attributed to our star signs, though a definitive causal link between astrology and serial murder remains unconfirmed.
Based on an unofficial report from Astrology-Zodiac-Signs, four star signs account for roughly 40% of serial killers from a field of nearly 500 known serial murderers included in the study. The three water signs lead the pack for the most killers and for the highest number of victims murdered. What's more, one Earth sign not only earned the dubious honor of most victims killed by one particular zodiac sign but also, the highest number of average victims per killer.
Are serial killers really more likely to be one zodiac sign over another? Can astrology really predict murderous behavior? That seems unlikely. Dig into the numbers supporting these assertions, however, and you'll never read a horoscope the same way again.

The four signs that showed up most frequently in the Astrology-Zodiac-Signs study of nearly 500 known serial murderers made up 38% of the group — Pisces, Cancer, Scorpio, and Sagittarius. Examine some of the traits associated with these signs, and things get even more bizarre. Scorpio attributes, for example, include violence and jealousy. Pisces have difficulty controlling their emotions, and Cancers are known to feel isolated and alone, according to Zodiac Fire.
Capricorn led the pack with the highest number of victims on average — 813. According to the report, the deadliest killer included in the study was Harold Shipman, a UK physician and a Cancer who is suspected in the murder of about 200 of his patients from the mid-1970s through the early 2000s.
Taurus and Gemini made up about 11% of serial killers of the 500 in the study, meaning if you happen to be either one of those astrological signs you're far less likely to be a serial murderer, based on these findings. Also notable, the most common sign for serial killer victims are water signs, so if you fall into this category, be sure to look behind you next time you're walking alone at night.
