How Many Grammys Does Eminem Have?

From the release of his late-'90s debut, "The Slim Shady LP" to his latest album "Music to Be Murdered By" from 2020, Eminem — whose real name is Marshall Bruce Mathers III, per Biography — remains one of the most decorated and best-selling musicians in history, with a long list of awards to his credit, including four MTV Video Music Awards won for his '99 debut LP. The Grammy awards, though, are still seen by many as the true measure of an artist's success, so how many of those has he won?

Shortly after Eminem arrived on the scene, the awards and accolades followed. In addition to industry recognition, his most well-known works have all been commercially popular. His debut went multi-platinum, and the follow-up, "The Marshall Mathers LP" sold quicker than any other hip-hop record in history. With more than 220 million copies sold in total, Eminem is, in fact, the best-selling rapper of all time (via The Things.) All that pales in comparison, though, next to Eminem's full list of Grammys.

Eminem is the third-winningest rapper in Grammy history

Even if Eminem had never won a Grammy in his career, the awards that he has won would be impressive enough, including the MTV Video Music Awards already mentioned, but also an Oscar for the song "Lose Yourself" from the 2002 movie "8 Mile" in which he also starred, per IMDb. According to InStyle Magazine, Eminem's award totals tally up to 17 Billboard Music Awards, 12 MTV Video Music Awards, and he's even earned a nod from the Golden Globes and the BET Awards, among others (via IMDb).

From the year 2000 to 2015, though, Eminem has won 15 Grammys out of 43 nominations. Although 15 wins puts Eminem third on the list of the rappers who've won the most Grammys, per Beats, Rhymes & Lists, 43 nominations means Eminem is well behind the pace for the most Grammy nods all time. At 83 total, Jay-Z leads that list followed closely by Paul McCartney with 81, and the musician producer Quincy Jones at 80, as People Magazine reports.
