William J. Wright is a professional freelance journalist, critic and genre film historian specializing in horror and cult entertainment. His work has appeared in print in such magazines as Rue Morgue, Phantom of the Movies’ Videoscope, Penny Blood, Sirens of Cinema, and the Washington DC-based "dark culture" magazine The City Morgue and on the web at Fangoria, Film Threat, and Dread Central. He has interviewed many of horror and cult cinema's legends and up-and-coming stars including Rob Zombie (horror rock icon and director of The Devil's Rejects), Bruce Campbell (The Evil Dead), Sid Haig (Spider Baby, House of 1000 Corpses), Tom Savini (Dawn of the Dead), Reggie Bannister (Phantasm), Lloyd Kaufman (director, author and president of the infamous TROMA Studios), Lena Headey (Game of Thrones, The Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles), Jaimie Alexander (Thor, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Blindspot), and many, many others. In 2012, his 30 year retrospective of the cult horror favorite The Evil Dead, was nominated for a Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Award for best article. He lives in Knoxville, TN, with his wife and three sons.


William has a bachelor of arts degree in English and film studies from East Tennessee State University located in Johnson City, Tennessee.
