  • Toby's favorite period of history is the Golden Age of Piracy, and he has an entire bookshelf dedicated to nautical adventures.
  • His love of finding the most fascinating stories in history led to him starting to write a book about the volunteers who hid the Mona Lisa from the Nazis.
  • His knowledge of nautical history helped him write a pirate fantasy novel that's currently in the process of being shopped around to different publishers.

Experience

From a young age, Toby always knew he wanted to write and tell stories, particularly anything odd, offbeat, and obscure. He went to New York University to pursue a career in writing, graduating from Tisch School of the Arts and working on his first Nickelodeon show, "Blaze and the Monster Machines," not long after. He later began writing about pop culture and entertainment news for Screen Rant, shifting to pieces on history and non-fiction books at The Archive. He was able to more freely indulge in his passions, covering topics such as pirate colonies, ancient Mayan metropolises, and lesser-known heroes of the World Wars. As a writer for Grunge, he delves further into the world of mysterious and macabre history while writing historical fiction novels as a passion project.

Education

Toby attended New York University and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in dramatic writing with a concentration in television and a minor in producing.
