Marta is a writer with a focus on retro pop culture and cinema. She created Paradise Playground in 2015: a film and music blog that specialized in artist interviews, indie film reviews, and artist discovery. She has worked with and interviewed a variety of successful acts such as Electric Youth, Sofi Tukker, Jarryd James, TENDER, and George Clanton, to name a few, along with collaborating with Elevation Pictures and Netflix to review upcoming releases. She then turned to freelance writing, where she's written for publications such as Little White Lies, Sister Magazine, and Localeur. Her extensive feature on Claudine Longet for Gusher Magazine was for sale at MoMA's Design Store. Marta joined the Nicki Swift team in 2019.

Marta studied English at Langara College in Vancouver, Canada, before continuing her education at the Blanche Macdonald Centre, where she received a diploma in Global Fashion Marketing, with a focus on Fashion History.
