Expertise
History, True Crime, The weird & unexplained
- Scheenagh got her first taste of true crime when an old English teacher gave in to her pleading and showed her 'that' photo of Mary Kelly, Jack the Ripper's final victim.
- She is a firm believer in the supernatural and paranormal, and is desperate to see a ghost.
- She's also passionate about history and loves exploring extraordinary human stories.
Experience
Scheenagh has been a journalist since 2000. She began her career with UK news agency The Press Association, where she wrote TV features and interviewed lots of celebrities. In 2009, she moved with her family to France and turned freelance in 2013. She juggles writing for newspapers, magazines, and websites, scrolling Morbid Knowledge on social media, and absorbing true crime stories and historical biographies in both book and podcast form. Her children will tell you she has a thing for dead people. She prefers to say she's a history nut — but concedes they're probably right. Scheenagh is living proof that you really can believe in aliens, ghosts, science, and the fundamental goodness of human nature.
Education
Scheenagh has an NVQ Level 4 in journalism at Grimsby College of Further Education.
