  • Scheenagh grew up listening to her mother's C&W collection and, in an act of rebellion, embraced New Wave synth and Alternative rock as soon as she heard it.
  • She's retained a love of dirty, sweaty guitar-led music -- the louder the better.
  • She is a proud member of Spiders, a tiny nightclub in her hometown that plays amazing alt-rock music and sells brandy-infused chocolate milk.

Experience

Scheenagh has been a journalist since 2000. She began her career with UK news agency The Press Association, where she wrote TV features and regularly interviewed celebrities. After a move to France, she turned to freelance writing in 2013. Since then, she has contributed to multiple publications including Foodie and Grunge, all the while listening to banger tracks from a range of rock and indie bands including The Sisters of Mercy, James, or Nirvana. She is quite proud to live in the same southwest region of France as the iconic Siouxie Sioux. One day she'll pluck up the courage to ask for an interview with her.

Education

Scheenagh has an NVQ Level 4 in journalism at Grimsby College of Further Education.
